Located on the Emma Elementary School campus, the Family Resource Center at Emma provides supportive services to children and families in the Emma district. More than just an assistance program, the Family Resource Center at Emma is a center of community life. Whether one visits the food pantry, the medical clinic, the homework club, or the community garden, they receive support to meet their individual needs and connect with the wider community.

Free Medical Clinic: In collaboration with Mission Hospital. Call Lynn at 828-281-0080 for more information.

Enrollment in Entitlement Programs: DSS provides an on-site income maintenance worker to assist eligible families in applying for Food Stamps, Medicaid, and Health Choice programs. Call Delana at 828-281-0082 for appointment.

ESL Classes: Offered in collaboration with The Literacy Council. Call The Literacy Council at 828-254-3442 for enrollment.

Community Garden:  Serves as an educational resource for Emma Elementary School; provides fresh, organic produce for distribution in the Emma community; and is a welcoming place to come together in Emma.
